How to convert JPG and other pictures to PDF on a Mac
Turn one photo or a whole set into a single PDF on a Mac with Finder, Preview or a free browser tool, in the right order and at a sensible size.
Your Mac can turn pictures into a PDF without any extra app. Which way is best depends on how many pictures you have.
1. Finder: fastest for several pictures
- Select the pictures in Finder. Sort by name first if the order matters.
- Control click the selection.
- Choose Quick Actions > Create PDF.
Finder makes one PDF with a page per picture, next to the originals.
2. Preview: when you want to arrange them
- Select the pictures in Finder and open them together in Preview.
- In the sidebar, drag them into order.
- Press Command A to select them all, then choose File > Print.
- Open the PDF menu at the bottom left and choose Save as PDF.
3. In your browser
Our free JPG to PDF tool works on any computer. The pictures are read by your browser and never uploaded.
Keep the PDF small
Phone photos are large, so a PDF of twenty of them can be too big to email. Shrink the pictures first with the image compressor, or compress the finished PDF, see compress without the blur.
The one click way
Turning pictures into a PDF is free in Simply PDF. It takes JPG, PNG and HEIC, turns photos the right way up, and places one per page on A4, US Letter or the size of each picture.
