How to convert a PDF to JPG on a Mac, every page at once

Preview exports one page at a time. Turn every page of a PDF into JPG or PNG pictures on a Mac with Automator or a free browser tool, sharp enough to print.

Turning a page into a picture is handy for slides, social posts or forms that only accept images. Preview does one page; for every page, use Automator.

One page: Preview

  1. Open the PDF in Preview and go to the page.
  2. Choose File > Export.
  3. Set Format to JPEG or PNG and set the Resolution. 150 pixels per inch suits a screen, 300 suits printing.
  4. Save.

Every page: Automator

  1. Open Automator and choose Quick Action. Set it to receive PDF files in Finder.
  2. Add the action Render PDF Pages as Images, and choose the format and resolution.
  3. Add Move Finder Items so the pictures go into a folder you choose.
  4. Save. Then Control click a PDF in Finder and run it from Quick Actions.

In your browser

Our free PDF to JPG tool turns every page into a picture inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

The one click way

PDF to pictures is free in Simply PDF: PNG or JPEG, at Screen, Standard or Print sharpness, every page named after the file and page number.
